Meke is a floor lamp that is made up of 4 high quality cardboard sheets of 4 mm thickness through smart folding techniques and achieves illumination through LEDs.
The consumer-oriented perspective of the society wears down the environment continuously. Meke, taking its name from Turkey’s only desert, meets the user needs as a floor lamp with a highly green approach. Made from high quality corrugated cardboard, Meke is a wonderful synthesis of engineering and esthetics on a light, robust, elegant and environmental lighting unit. Each of its part complies perfectly with recycling issues. Meke emits an indirect and calm light into 3 different directions that are separated at an angle of 90 degrees.
It takes approx. 1 minute to get Meke ready for use. It is weighing only 2 kg. Its flat top surface and robust body is suitable to placing vases, accessories, sculptures, flowers etc. The cuts on the folding contours of the main sheet create the openings into three separated directions through which the light emits into the environment. This detail also brings in a fluid and kinetic posture to the rectangular prism structure.
Meke, weighing only 2kg and equipped with a 12V LED system, is very suitable even for a children’s room. Its parts do not consist of any kind of carcinogenic substances or its derivatives.
